About Kyleinschriften

Keilinschriften is the German word for cuneiform, or wedge-shaped script. It was the script used in the ancient languages of Akkadian and Sumerian (and a few other places). Some of the greatest ancient literary masterpieces such as the Epic of Gilgamesh, the Descent of Ishtar, and Enuma Elish were written in the cuneiform script.

The website's name is a play on the word keilinschriften and my name, Kyle. It is dedicated to my personal and professional interests in the Hebrew Bible, the ancient Near East, and Christian theology.

In the past, this blog served as a repository of links to online resources. With so much of that information readily available by typing a few keywords into your search engine, that facet of the blog is no longer necessary or particularly helpful.
